SPRINGFIELD, Va. - AstroBug -- ALEXANDRIA, VA – In recognition of Earth Day on April 22, Becky's Pet Care, the region's premier professional pet sitting and dog walking service, is launching a new educational campaign aimed at helping local pet owners reduce their environmental "paw print." The initiative, "Sustainable Paws," focuses on eco-friendly pet waste management, sustainable product choices, and the benefits of hyper-local exercise routines.

As Northern Virginia continues to grow, the environmental impact of domestic pets become an increasingly important conversation for the community. Becky's Pet Care is utilizing its platform to advocate for small, manageable changes that collectively preserve the parks and trails that define the local landscape.

The "Sustainable Paws" Earth Day Framework
Becky's Pet Care is highlighting three key areas where pet owners can make an immediate environmental impact this spring:

• Zero-Waste Waste Management: Encouraging the transition to certified compostable, vegetable-based waste bags to reduce the billions of plastic bags that enter landfills annually.
• Route Optimization: By utilizing professional walkers who manage localized neighborhoods, pet owners can reduce the carbon emissions associated with driving pets to distant parks for exercise.
• Upcycled Enrichment: Promoting DIY toys and "brain games" made from household items to reduce consumer packaging waste and provide high-level mental stimulation.
