This certification, awarded by the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM), recognizes veterinarians who demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in pain management for animals.

Dr. Carmack's achievement highlights her unwavering dedication to enhancing the quality of life for pets in their final stages. With over a decade of exclusive experience in hospice and palliative care, Dr. Carmack has been instrumental in advancing compassionate end-of-life care as a founding member of Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice, part of the Caring Pathways Family of Practices.

Dr. Carmack's extensive background in veterinary medicine includes serving on the Board of Directors for the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) since 2016 and holding multiple certifications in animal hospice, veterinary acupuncture, Chinese food therapy, and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine End-of-Life care.
