Join us at United Way of Central Eastern California's 33rd Annual Professional Development Conference for a presentation by the founder of Grants for Good on "How Data Funds Good Programs."
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - AstroBug -- Grants for Good, LLC is proud to announce that its founder and Chief Executive Officer, Lisa Kerr, will be a featured workshop speaker at United Way of Central Eastern California's 33rd Annual Professional Development Conference. The event will take place on June 26th at the Bakersfield Marriott.
Lisa Kerr will present on "Enhancing Public Health: Data-Driven Strategies for Grant Writing and Advocacy." In this workshop, Kerr will share her extensive expertise in funding strategy and nonprofit advising to help attendees leverage data for effective grant writing and advocacy, ultimately enhancing public health initiatives.
"Data is typically reserved for conversations in tech, but it should be present in everyday conversations related to advocacy and grant writing," says Lisa Kerr. "I worked on data collection and analysis for one of the largest drug studies in a fortune 500 global biotech company and the amount of data we consumed was enormous–but that's where the money was. Nonprofits, especially small to mid-sized orgs need to understand how to collect, verify, and analyze data. Their funding depends on it."

Kerr will share strategies she learned in data collection and analysis from her work on drug studies and will do a deep dive into the parallels of "big data"' and nonprofit data. Kerr hopes that community leaders and advocates will walk away with a sense of what constitutes important data, how to ethically collect data, and how small to mid-sized nonprofits can level the playing field against large nonprofit organizations that collect their data.
The presentation is part of a larger push by Grants for Good to make philanthropic and public funding knowledge universally accessible.
