In addition to several other scholarship offerings, PPG has announced 20 scholarships to be awarded for their 2022 Events.
INVERNESS, Fla. - AstroBug -- The Pet Professional Guild's (PPG) Inclusivity Division has announced it will be providing 20 scholarships for tickets to attend the Association's two scheduled Canine Scent Workshops being held in November 2022.
In 2020, PPG committed to do more to advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. In pursuit of this promise came the launch of the PPG Inclusivity Division, which began rolling out initiatives in 2021. The latest divisional initiative is the launch of event scholarships, helping to make PPG events more readily accessible to the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
The eligible events for these scholarships are Scent and Scentability, a 3-day workshop focused on canine scent work for practical training and behavior solutions, and Canine Scent Advanced Handling Skills, a 2-day event focused on skills beyond the basics of canine scent. The workshops are designed and presented by Dr. Robert & Karen Hewings from the UK College of Scent and are being hosted by PPG's Educational Division in Crystal River on the Nature Coast of Florida November 2, 3, 4 & November 5, 6, 2022.

"We are thrilled to supplement our existing scholarship programs by offering 20 free tickets to these fun and informative events. Scholarship tickets will be awarded to individuals in the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, as well as individuals who are currently experiencing economic hardship," said Niki Tudge, PPG President.
PPG events are planned to bring together its community in positive and educational ways. Events are attended by PPG members and the public and offer important opportunities to network and learn from one another. As PPG is committed to being more purposeful in enhancing inclusivity and diversity, both within its membership and in its wider community, encouraging and facilitating a more diverse audience makes so much sense. PPG's inclusivity speaks to all stakeholders, clients, employees, contractors, volunteers, partners, board members and association members. Facilitating shared experiences and connections with diverse individuals helps to build a more cohesive and inclusive organization. This coming together of diverse training and behavior professionals only helps strengthen PPG's community and the industry. Scholarships can be accessed and applied for here.
