RuffRest Ultimate Dog Bed is the First Pet Bed in the Market to Earn an R-Value
PHOENIX - AstroBug -- On National Dog Day, Timberdog announced that their ultimate travel dog bed, RuffRest, received an R-value rating of 7.5 after rigorous testing from HAAG Global.
The R-value is a lab-conducted study to determine thermal and insulation values. For Timberdog, it's a measurement of how well the insulation in their flagship dog bed retains its warmth and protects dogs from the cold.
"Seasoned travelers and nature lovers know that temperatures can drop suddenly and unexpectedly when outdoors. This is why they take pains to ensure their sleeping bags, tents and outdoor wear have high R-values," said Leena Chitnis, founder and CEO of Timberdog.

"Here at Timberdog, we want to make sure our canine companions are protected, as well. As far as we know, no other pet companies thus far are investing in testing the R-value of their products. But I stand behind RuffRest in every way and want to assure customers that they're truly getting what they pay for."
RuffRest is the first dog bed to undergo testing from certified engineers from the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), in a battery of exams. To provide context, the R-value for a human sleeping bag generally ranges from 1 to 7. The rating of 7.5 means that while outdoors or camping, the bed provides a warm haven even if temperatures drop to freezing. A 7.5 R-value is considered exemplary.
